.SHORT TERM...
(Tonight through Tuesday)
Issued at 1026 PM CDT Sun Jun 29 2025

The radar is once again pretty quiet with all of the convection
dead. There is a pocket or two of sprinkles but that`s it. Patchy
fog is expected to develop prior to dawn with the ample low level
moisture. Monday will remain unsettled with scattered showers and
storms. Profiles will be similar to today with weak lapse rates and
PWAT values approaching 2 inches. This will pose a localized
flooding threat as storm motions will be slow once again. CAMs show
a decrease in activity after sunset, but more activity is expected
to develop prior to dawn on Tuesday as an upper trough approaches
the area. More scattered storms will develop during the day on
Tuesday as the trough moves through the area. Despite a little
more upper support, shear will remain low with 10-15 kts of
effective shear. Soundings still look water-loaded with poor lapse
rates, so I do not expect much a severe thunderstorm risk.

&&

.LONG TERM...
(Tuesday Night through next Monday)
Issued at 1026 PM CDT Sun Jun 29 2025

A surface cold front will clear the area Tuesday night which will
bring slightly less humid air on Wednesday. A drier pattern will
emerge with Middle Tennessee in northwest flow Wednesday and
Thursday. The upper high will strengthen and push eastward on
Friday which will crank up the heat by a couple degrees. As far as
the Independence Day celebrations, it looks hot but dry. The
firework shows should be clear of any rain. The hot and dry
pattern will continue through the long weekend.

.AVIATION...
(06Z TAFS)
Issued at 1220 AM CDT Mon Jun 30 2025

VFR conditions through the overnight hours with light and variable
winds. CSV and SRB look to have some FG and VSBY concerns into the
morning hours, so have dropped them accordingly. Low clouds will
move in in the late morning/afternoon hours today, and lift back
to VFR as we get toward the 0z July 1st time frame. Winds will
remain out of the SW, except in thunderstorms where winds could be
erratic.
